John Gelfand is an experienced, hands-on health insurance information technology leader. He has more than 10 years of information technology experience, most of which has been in the health insurance IT industry. He is based in Denver, Colorado and is responsible for overseeing eHealthPartners technical consulting services delivery which includes Enterprise Architecture, Technical Services, Application and Web Development and Information Security Consulting.
Prior to joining eHealthPartners John served as a Professional Services consultant for the TriZetto Group for 8 years. Since he joined eHealthPartners and while at TriZetto he has served many Facets™ customers such as United Health Care, Blue Cross of Michigan, Capital Blue Cross and Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield.
John has extensive experience with Facets™ including architecting solutions, technical troubleshooting, Facets™ batch processes, Facets™ security, Facets™ performance tuning, migrations and data conversion/mapping from legacy systems to Facets™, upgrades (including Facets™ 4.41, 4.51 and 4.61), Facets™ hosting, application and web development (including interfaces, extracts and extensions) and HIPAA solutions.
His training and expertise includes Visual C++, Visual Basic (VB), Perl, Facets™, NetworX™, Workflow, XML, SQL and database management. He is proficient with VB, VBScript, Visual C++, PERL, SQL, XML, Java, XLNT, EC Map, EC Gateway, HP OpenView, Tidal, ONYX, Korn and Bourne shell scripting and automated testing tools. He is certified in VB, EC Map, NetworX™ and Facets™. His database platform experience includes SQL Server, Sybase, Oracle and MS Access. Additional programming skills include ASP, Crystal Reports, SunGard/MACESS EXP, Cactus, DreamWeaver, HomeSite, Visio, MS Office and MS Project. His operating systems background includes DOS, all Windows versions up to and including Vista and Windows Server 2003, UNIX and Linux.
John received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from DePaul University and a Master of Science degree with a focus on Information Security from American Intercontinental University.
